Rıza Zelyut is a Turkish journalist, researcher, and former teacher born on April 13, 1948, in Ormancık, Niksar. He has Alevi origins and completed his higher education in the Turkish Language Department at Trabzon Fatih Educational Institute in 1970. Following this, he worked as a Turkish teacher and was actively involved in the teachers' organization Töb-Der before 1980. His first book, 'Sonsuz Yarım Gün,' which addresses the Kızıldere Massacre of 1972, was burned by the military regime after the coup, leading to his arrest. After prison, he pursued journalism.
