Ron Simonson is an American former gridiron football coach, born on March 12, 1942. He was the head football coach at the University of Puget Sound from 1978 to 1984 and at the University of Northern Colorado from 1985 to 1988, achieving a career college football record of 66–48–1. In addition to his coaching roles, he also served as an assistant coach with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the CFL and at Oregon State. After retiring from coaching, Simonson transitioned into a career as an author.
