Ron Smith (born 1949) is an American poet and the first writer-in-residence at St. Christopher's School in Richmond, Virginia. He has authored several poetry collections, including *Running Again in Hollywood Cemetery* and *The Humility of the Brutes*. In 2005, he received the Carole Weinstein Poetry Prize and has been a key figure in Virginia's poetry community, serving on various boards and as Poetry Laureate of Virginia from 2014 to 2016. His work has appeared in prominent literary periodicals and he regularly reviews poetry for the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
