Roo Borson, born Ruth Elizabeth Borson on January 20, 1952, in Berkeley, California, is a notable Canadian poet residing in Toronto. She studied at UC Santa Barbara and Goddard College before earning her MFA from the University of British Columbia. Borson has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Governor General's Literary Award in 2004 and the Griffin Poetry Prize in 2005 for her work 'Short Journey Upriver Toward Oishida'. She collaborates with fellow poet Kim Maltman and Andy Patton in the performance poetry ensemble Pain Not Bread.
