Rosa Amelia Giove Nakazawa was a Peruvian surgeon, educator, and researcher known for her work in addiction treatment and traditional Amazonian medicine. She co-founded the Takiwasi Center in 1992, a rehabilitation center for drug addicts in Tarapoto, Peru. Giove served as the regional dean of the Medical College of Peru from 2008 to 2009 and coordinated the department of Alternative, Traditional, and Complementary Medicine. She created the ritual song 'Ábrete, corazón' and contributed to the cultural heritage of ayahuasca practices in native Amazonian communities. She passed away on March 7, 2022.
