Roy Reed was an American journalist known for his coverage of the Civil Rights Movement for The New York Times. He authored several notable works, including 'Looking for Hogeye' (1986) and a biography of Governor Orval Faubus, 'Faubus: The Life and Times of an American Prodigal' (1997). Reed also edited 'Looking Back at the Arkansas Gazette: An Oral History' (2009). After his tenure at The New York Times, he taught journalism at the University of Arkansas and had a lecture series named in his honor after his retirement.
