Saskia Kasemaa was an Estonian painter born on February 12, 1945, in Tartu and passed away on August 8, 2019, in the same city. She completed her education at the Estonian SSR State Art Institute in 1971. Kasemaa served as an educator at Tartu Art School from 1974 to 1985 and later joined the University of Tartu's painting department as a lecturer in 1988. She also held the position of department head from 1996 to 1997.
