Shah Ahmad Noorani (October 1, 1926 – December 11, 2003) was a Pakistani religious scholar, philosopher, politician, and activist. Born in India, he moved to Pakistan after the partition. He obtained a degree in Arabic and specialized in Islamic jurisprudence. Noorani was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan in 1970 and later became a member of the Senate in the 1980s. He initially withdrew from politics in the 1990s but returned to oppose President Pervez Musharraf. He passed away from a heart attack and was buried in Karachi.
