He was a lawyer by training and the father of surfing in Israel. Kancepolsky was instrumental in developing water sports, training lifeguards, promoting lifeguard rights, and ensuring swimmer safety. A beach in Tel Aviv is named after him, and he established the first surfing center in the country.
