Sharif uddin Ahmed is a Bangladeshi historian known for his extensive research on the history of Dhaka. He is a prominent figure in the academic community, serving on the editorial board for the first edition of the Banglapedia, the national encyclopedia of Bangladesh. Ahmed was also the chief editor for 21 books related to Dhaka published to commemorate the city's 400-year anniversary. Additionally, he has served as the president of the Bangladesh Historical Society and currently holds leadership positions in the History Academy and the Bangladesh Archives and Records Management Society (BARMS).
