Shūya Nakamura is a Japanese historian and professor at Bunkyo University, born on February 9, 1959, in Wakayama Prefecture. He graduated from the University of Tsukuba with a degree in humanities and later completed his doctoral studies there in 1989. After working at the Kyoto City Historical Museum, he became an associate professor and then a professor at Bunkyo University in 1994. His expertise includes ancient Japanese history and the history of tea ceremony. He also contributed to educational efforts in history by creating historical educational cards.
