Silva Kaputikyan was an Armenian poet who began writing at the age of thirteen. She published her first book in 1945 and went on to author more than 60 books, many of which have been translated into various languages including Russian, Ukrainian, Azerbaijani, English, French, Bulgarian, and Arabic.
