Simón Reyes Rivera was a Bolivian trade union leader and politician born on January 5, 1933, in Tarija, Bolivia. He co-founded and served as the first secretary of the Communist Party of Bolivia. Reyes was also the Secretary General of the Bolivian Federation of Mining Workers and the Executive Secretary of the Bolivian Workers' Central. Throughout his political career, he held positions as a National Deputy and Senator in the Bolivian Republic. He passed away on November 1, 2012, in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia.
