Simon Simonian was an Armenian writer, publicist, and teacher born on March 11, 1914, in Qaziantep, within the Ottoman Empire. He led the archives of the Cilicia Armenian Catholicosate in Lebanon and taught in Armenian schools there. A prolific author, he contributed significantly to Armenian language and history education with several textbooks. In 1958, he founded and edited the journal 'Sprük,' later leading Sevan Publishing. Notably, he coined the term 'Hay dat' (Armenian court) and had tense relations with traditional Armenian parties due to his differing political views. He passed away on March 11, 1986, in Beirut.
