He began his journalism career in 1945 and worked at Večer, Radio Ljubljana, and Radio Maribor, where he served as an editor. He received the Tomšič award for his lifetime contribution to Slovenian humor and social satire. His son was journalist Žarko Golob, and his brother was music educator Vlado Golob.
