He was born on December 26, 1919, in the village of Byshky, and passed away on May 28, 2003, in Palatine, Illinois, USA. Goliash was actively involved in various organizations, including the Brotherhood of UPA Veterans (1965-2003), the Education Council of the Ukrainian Youth Association of America (1966-1972), and served as the long-time secretary of the Ukrainian National Association in Chicago.
