Sir Stephen John Deuchar is a British arts administrator born on March 11, 1957. He served as director of the UK's Art Fund from 2010 to 2020 and was the first director of Tate Britain from 1998 to 2010. Deuchar earned a BA in history and a PhD in Art History. He has been recognized with honors including a CBE in 2010 and knighthood in 2021 for his services to the arts. He is married to Prof Katie Scott and has four children. Deuchar also serves as a Deputy Lieutenant for Kent.
