Chief Steven Lawani (born December 30, 1947) is a Nigerian politician who served as the Deputy Governor of Benue State. He was the National Deputy Chairman of the National Republican Convention (NRC) and was elected as a Senator under the United Nigeria Congress Party during the Sani Abacha transition program. Lawani has an extensive educational background with degrees in Economics and management from various institutions in Nigeria and the UK. He was honored with the national title OFR in 2004.
