Stig Ramel (1927-2006) was a Swedish baron, civil servant, businessman, and author, best known as the CEO of the Nobel Foundation from 1972 to 1992. He studied law at Lund University and began his career in the Foreign Ministry, serving in various diplomatic roles. Ramel also played significant roles in several organizations and boards, and was a member of the Swedish Academy of Sciences. After retirement, he pursued writing. He was married to writer Ann Marie Wachtmeister af Johannishus, and they had a daughter, actress Jacqueline Ramel.
