Styrmir Gunnarsson (March 27, 1938 – August 20, 2021) was an Icelandic editor known for his long tenure as the editor of Morgunblaðið, a major Icelandic newspaper. He graduated with a law degree from the University of Iceland and began working at Morgunblaðið on June 2, 1965, eventually becoming its editor in 1972. Styrmir served as editor for 36 of his 43 years at the paper, retiring on June 2, 2008. In 2009, he published a book about the 2008 banking crisis in Iceland, and he was a supporter of the Independence Party.
