Svitlana Zinych (née Shipunova) is a Ukrainian film scholar born on January 19, 1931, in Odessa, Ukraine. She earned her Candidate of Arts degree in 1966 and worked at the Institute of Art Criticism, Folklore, and Ethnology in Ukraine from 1957 to 2005, becoming a senior researcher in film studies. Zinych authored several books on film, participated in writing the 'History of Ukrainian Soviet Cinema', and has been a member of the National Union of Film Workers of Ukraine since 1972.
