Takekuni Ikeda (January 14, 1924 - May 15, 2022) was a Japanese architect, businessman, and naval officer. He served as the honorary chairman of Japan Design, represented Ikeda Laboratory, and was the chairman of Huis Ten Bosch. During World War II, he survived the sinking of the light cruiser 'Yahagi' after swimming for five hours in heavy oil. His experiences inspired his work in designing skyscrapers and pursuing harmony with nature in architecture, marking him as a significant figure in Japan's high-rise development. He held the rank of lieutenant commander in the navy.
