Theodore McCord was an American jazz reedist born on May 17, 1907, in Birmingham, Alabama. Active in the 1920s and 1930s, he played tenor saxophone, clarinet, and alto saxophone. He was a student at Wilberforce University, where he participated in a student group led by Horace Henderson. McCord performed with the Blue Grass Buddies, McKinney's Cotton Pickers, and the Mills Blue Rhythm Band, and recorded alongside notable artists such as Louis Armstrong, King Carter, and Ollie Shepard.
