Alberto Teta Lando was an Angolan musician of Bakongo ethnicity, born on June 2, 1948, in Mbanza Kongo, Zaire. His music focused on Angolan identity, the civil war, the longing of Angolan exiles, and themes of youth love and family. He sang in both Portuguese and Kikongo. Lando served as president of the União Nacional dos Artistas e Compositores (UNAC). After his death on July 14, 2008, in Paris due to cancer, an art award was created in his honor.
