Born on February 5, 1952, in Hasemi, Shimane Prefecture, he currently holds the position of Minister for Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in the first and second Kishida Cabinets. Previously, he served as the Minister of the Environment. Saito actively participates in shaping Japan's policies regarding infrastructure and environmental issues.
