Thandi Modise is a South African politician born on December 25, 1959, in Vryburg. She currently serves as the Minister of Defence and Military Veterans. Before this position, she was the Speaker of the National Assembly. From 2014 to 2019, she held the role of Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces. Additionally, she served as the Premier of North West from 2010 to 2014 and was succeeded in this role by Supra Mahumapelo after the 2014 general elections.
