Thomas Locker was an American landscape painter, illustrator, and author of children's literature, known for his vibrant oil paintings inspired by the Hudson River School. He began his artistic training at a young age and later earned degrees in art history. Locker held over 75 solo exhibitions and authored numerous illustrated children's books, many of which became library staples. He received several awards for his contributions to children's literature. After a near-death experience, he returned to full-time painting until his death in 2012.
