Thomas Manville Waterland was a British Columbia mining engineer and political figure born on December 15, 1933. He served as a Social Credit member in the Legislative Assembly from 1975 to 1986, representing Yale-Lillooet. Waterland held cabinet positions as Minister of Mines, Minister of Forests, and Minister of Agriculture and Food. He resigned from his forestry minister role in 1986 due to a tax shelter investment scandal. After his political career, he was the president of the Mining Association of B.C. from 1986 to 1993.
