Thomas Edward Silverstein, also known as Terrible Tom, was an American inmate and member of the Aryan Brotherhood prison gang. He was incarcerated for life at ADX Florence for the murders of two fellow inmates and a prison guard. Silverstein claimed that the inhumane conditions of the American prison system contributed to these murders. He was held in solitary confinement from 1983 until his death, making him the longest-serving inmate in solitary confinement in a U.S. federal prison.
