Urpo Helkovaara, born on January 2, 1947, in Jyväskylä, is a Finnish ice hockey executive. He served as the CEO of SM-liiga from 1989 to 2006 and was a board member before that. Additionally, he was involved with JyP HT as CEO from 1981 to 1989. His contributions to ice hockey also include working with the IIHF from 1994 to 1998. He was honored as a Finnish Ice Hockey Lion, number 186, and received the Golden Merit Award from the Finnish Ice Hockey Association in 2009.
