Valdir José de Castro is a Brazilian Roman Catholic bishop born on February 14, 1961, in Santa Bárbara d’Oeste, São Paulo. He joined the Society of Saint Paul and became a priest in 1987. He has held various leadership roles, including General Superior of the Society from 2015 to 2022. Castro was appointed Bishop of Campo Limpo by Pope Francis on September 14, 2022, and was ordained bishop on November 26, 2022. He has also pursued studies in philosophy, theology, journalism, and communication studies.
