Vardan Avetisyan (February 13, 1911 - October 22, 1975) was an Armenian historian and a prominent figure in Soviet scientific circles. Born in Van, Ottoman Empire, he graduated from Yerevan State University in 1932 and went on to hold several significant positions, including director of the Armenian branch of the Institute of Marxism-Leninism and editor-in-chief of the journal 'Party Life'. He earned a doctorate in historical sciences in 1945 and was recognized as a distinguished scientist in the Armenian SSR in 1967. He passed away in Yerevan.
