Vardan Samvelyan (January 5, 1901 – August 4, 1956) was an Armenian singer, musicologist, and folk music collector born in Vagharshapat, Russian Empire. He studied at the Yerevan State Conservatory from 1923 to 1936 and held significant positions including director of various cultural institutions in Armenia and Moscow. He was involved in collecting Armenian folk songs, conducting ethnomusicological research, and writing about Armenian music history and theory. Notably, he compiled a work titled 'Songbook' in 1948.
