Vazgen Babayan was an Armenian machinery engineer, born on January 25, 1931, in Nuxar, Azerbaijani SSR. He held a doctorate in technical sciences (1981) and became a professor in 1988. Babayan served at various research institutes, contributing to the mechanization of rocky and swampy lands, and was involved in developing machinery for mountainous agriculture. His work included notable creations that were implemented in the USSR and Cuba. He passed away on December 4, 2016.
