Violet Odogwu is a retired Nigerian athlete born on May 15, 1942, in Asaba-Ase, Delta. She excelled in multiple track and field events, including long jump, high jump, hurdles, and sprints. Odogwu competed at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in 1958, finishing 9th in high jump and 12th in long jump. In 1966, she won a bronze medal in long jump and placed 8th in the 80m hurdles at the same games. She also participated in the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City, where she achieved a personal best of 6.45m in long jump.
