Born in Indiana and raised in Ohio, she studied at prestigious institutions including George Washington University and the California College of Arts and Crafts, obtaining a B.A. and M.F.A. in art. She taught at the University of Iowa, becoming the only woman in her department and later innovated the Iowa Foil Printer for printmaking. Myers had over 100 solo exhibitions, and her work is held in major art collections across the United States.
