Vladimir Surenkov is a Soviet and Russian engineer-geologist and political figure, born on February 23, 1948. He served as the chief geologist of the Baleyzoloto mining enterprise, deputy director of the Zabajkalzoloto association, and deputy head of the industry department of the Chita regional committee of the CPSU. Surenkov was also a member of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russia's first convocation from 1993 to 1995. He was honored with the title of Distinguished Geologist of the Russian Federation in 1996.
