Volker Klöpsch is a German sinologist and translator born on January 18, 1948. He completed his doctoral thesis on the anthology 'Shiren yuxie' published by Wei Qingzhi around 1240. He teaches at the East Asian Seminar at the University of Cologne and is the founder and co-editor of the 'Heft für ostasiatische Kultur'. Klöpsch has translated 'The Three Hundred Tang Poems' into German and published the 'Art of War' by Sunzi.
