Wacław Milke was a Polish cultural activist born on June 14, 1914, in Wyszogród and died on May 9, 2008, in Płock. He was named Płocczanin of the Year in 1975 and honored as an honorary citizen of Wyszogród. In 1946, he founded the Harcerski Zespół Pieśni i Tańca 'Dzieci Płocka', the oldest children's ensemble in Poland. Milke was also the initiator of the Peace Bell in Płock and the creator of the annual Dni Historii Płocka celebrations.
