Walter Markov (1909 - 1993) was a historian and university professor from Germany and East Germany, born in Graz. He was a member of the Saxon Academy of Sciences from December 7, 1964, to October 9, 1992, and also served in the Berlin Academy of Sciences. Markov passed away at the age of 84.
