William Ross Turpin, born on February 8, 1971, is an American musician primarily recognized as the bassist for the rock band Collective Soul. He started his music career at a young age, taking piano lessons and majoring in percussion in college. Beyond his work with Collective Soul, Turpin is a solo artist and released his debut EP, 'The Lighthouse,' in 2011. He owns an indie label called Gooey Music and is active in various music projects, including forming a backing band named the Way. He is also known for hosting annual Christmas rock concerts.
