Jhr. Louis Marie (Wite) Michiels van Kessenich was a Dutch politician born in Maastricht in 1938. He had a legal education from the Utrecht University and began his career at the Ministry of Economic Affairs before moving to the Ministry of Finance. He served as mayor of Mheer and Sint Geertruid and later became the mayor of the newly formed municipality of Margraten. In 1985, he was appointed Secretary-General of the Ministry of Finance until his death in 1990. His wife served in the Senate from 1987 to 1999.
