Wittich Freitag was a Brazilian businessman and politician born on July 7, 1922, in Blumenau. He founded multiple companies, including Consul. Initially affiliated with Aliança Renovadora Nacional (ARENA), he later joined the Partido da Frente Liberal (PFL). Freitag served as a city councilor before his tenure as mayor of Joinville from 1983 to 1988, and again from 1993 to 1996. He was also a state deputy in the Santa Catarina Legislative Assembly. He passed away on October 16, 1998, due to intestinal hemorrhage.
