Yan Jici (1901–1996) was a prominent Chinese physicist and politician known as a founder of modern physics in China. After earning his degrees in France, he made significant contributions to physics education and research in China. He played a key role in establishing the Chinese Academy of Sciences and served as its Founding Director. Yan was also the second president of the University of Science and Technology of China. Beyond science, he was active in politics, serving as a delegate to several National People's Congresses and holding leadership positions in scientific societies. His legacy continues through his contributions to physics and education.
