Yasumi Takeda (May 8, 1927 - September 13, 1986) was a Japanese author born in Nango, Miyagi Prefecture. He dropped out of Tokyo University of Commerce and later worked in the Japan Library Association and the publishing industry. Takeda studied under Shin Hasegawa and won the All-Round Reading Newcomer Award in 1963 for his work 'Dai J'. He was nominated for the Naoki Prize multiple times for historical novels and nonfiction, notably depicting the Maria Luz incident.
