Yi Zhaohua was a prominent Chinese astrodynamicist and educator, born in May 1931 in Leshan, Sichuan. He graduated from Peking University in 1956 and joined Nanjing University's astronomy department. Yi became a professor in 1981 and served in various roles, including as a committee director for the Astrodynamics Professional Committee from 1978 to 1985. He was a member of the Chinese Communist Party since March 1958 and an active participant in international astronomy organizations. Yi retired in September 2001, contributing significantly to his field throughout his career.
