Zhong Xiaoyang, also known as Sharon Chung, is a modern writer from Hong Kong currently living in Australia. Born in Guangzhou in 1962, she moved to Hong Kong as an infant and studied film in the US. Influenced by classical Chinese literature and Eileen Chang, she published her first fiction work at 18. Chung's notable works include four poetry volumes, five short story collections, and novels, one of which was adapted into a film in 2002. Her writing style is characterized by a blend of Western and Eastern influences.
