Zurab Gogia was a Georgian politician and journalist, born on February 25, 1946, in Rustavi. He graduated from the Faculty of Philology at Tbilisi State University in 1976. Gogia worked as a journalist from 1976 to 1980 and was a political prisoner from 1980 to 1985. He became the head of the organizational department of the Georgian Nature Protection Society from 1986 to 1992. He served as a member of the 3rd convocation of the Parliament of Georgia from 1992 until his death in 1994.
