André Louis Arthur Zirnheld was a French paratrooper and member of the Free French Air Force during World War II. He served in the French Squadron, Special Air Service, and is noted for being the first French paratrooper officer killed in action. Zirnheld is also presumed to have authored the poem 'The Paratrooper's Prayer.' His military service and sacrifice highlighted the contributions of French forces during the war.
