Brigadier Dollard Ménard (1913-1997) was a distinguished officer of the Canadian Army. He was notably wounded five times during the Dieppe Raid in 1942 while commanding Les Fusiliers Mont-Royal. His courageous actions during the raid inspired the famous Canadian World War II poster, 'Ce qu’il faut pour vaincre' (What it takes to win). Ménard was unique among his peers as he was the only commanding officer from the landing at Dieppe to return to Britain post-raid, and he later received the title of Companion of the Distinguished Service Order.
